Standard handling, transit, delivery appointments and receiving responsibilities for Northern orders.
Northern normally handles an in-stock order within 1–3 business days after written confirmation and receipt of cleared funds. Carrier transit is generally 3–7 business days, so most standard orders arrive within 4–10 business days. Custom projects, remote locations and special permits may need more time; the confirmed order will show any different preparation estimate.
Handling includes order verification, payment clearance, equipment allocation, final condition checks, documentation and carrier booking. Requests received outside normal business hours enter review on the next business day. Weekends and US federal holidays are not counted as handling or transit business days.
Northern arranges delivery within the continental United States where suitable carrier service is available, at no additional delivery charge. Delivery to a continental-US address is included in the product price, so no freight is added at checkout. Alaska, Hawaii, islands, export destinations and restricted sites are outside free delivery and require individual confirmation.
Finished units may travel by tilt-bed, flatbed or another suitable trailer. Flat-pack kits and smaller items may ship by pallet freight or specialist carrier. The order documents identify the planned service. Crane placement, forklift service, precise positioning, assembly and utility connections are included only when expressly listed.
Northern or the carrier will contact the buyer with dispatch information and a delivery window. An authorized adult must be reachable and present when required. Carrier estimates can change because of weather, traffic, route restrictions, equipment failure or regional capacity. Wait for a confirmed appointment before scheduling installers or other contractors.
The buyer must provide accurate gate, road, turning, overhead and ground-condition details and prepare a safe, level receiving area. A finished unit requires adequate space for the complete truck-and-trailer combination and the agreed unloading method. The buyer supplies permits, traffic control, foundations, utilities and lifting equipment unless the written order says otherwise.
Match the product and quantity to the order before signing. Record visible damage, shortages or packaging problems on the carrier receipt, take clear photographs and notify sales@northerncontainersllc.com within 24 hours of delivery. Signing without a notation can limit a freight claim. Keep damaged equipment and packaging unaltered until Northern provides instructions.
If the carrier cannot safely enter, unload or reach the agreed point because of site conditions, absent personnel or inaccurate information, the equipment may be returned to a terminal or depot. Waiting time, storage, return freight, redelivery and special lifting charges may be passed to the buyer. Contact Northern before the appointment if any access condition changes.
Request an address change before dispatch. A route cannot always be changed after carrier booking, and additional charges may apply. Multi-item orders may arrive in separate shipments when different equipment or carriers are involved; Northern will identify that arrangement during coordination.
